The copper butterfly pendant is handcrafted for necklace design. This is an original design by Patricia Healey. The bail has been soldered on the back of the butterfly at a slight angle to give it a sense of movement, rather than having it hang straight up and down. The pendant features a combination of textures, including hand stamping and small brass balls soldered onto the wings. The repoussé technique is used to lift the metal from the reverse side, giving the butterfly its form. The beautiful coloration, achieved through torch heating, ranges from oranges to reds and is sealed with lacquer for protection.
