The puffy square copper bead, designed by Patricia Healey, is a rustic, artisan piece with a lot of texture. It features hues of oranges and reds, created by heating the metal and then sealing it with lacquer. The bronze solder peeks through the seams, adding an extra rustic, handmade look. Drilled on the diagonal, it takes on a diamond shape when strung into a necklace or bracelet. This bead would make a striking focal point in an earring design. Both sides are identical, with texture and form achieved through repoussé, a technique where the metal is lifted from the reverse side. This handcrafted, handmade bead is a true work of art.
